DCP Conversion Information

DCP Creation

The Minneapolis St. Paul International Film Festival exhibits exclusively in DCP format. All films selected for inclusion in the festival must be available for exhibition in DCP format.

  • If you do not already have a DCP, it is highly recommended that you use a professional post-production studio to create your DCP. The end product will not only look better, but will conform to industry standards and be tested even before our own in-house tech checks

Encrypted DCPs

  • Notify us immediately if the DCP you are providing is encrypted and requires KDMs to unlock
  • MSPIFF will provide the necessary server certificates for KDM creation to the lab address provided. MSPIFF uses multiple venues, so more than one KDM may be necessary
  • Please make the open duration of the KDM from the time of creation through May 4, 2017 to ensure proper quality testing, possible press preview, Festival screenings (April 13-29, 2017), and possible selection in Best of Fest (April 30 – May 4, 2017)
  • KDM creation is at the expense of the content provider, MSPIFF does not pay for KDM creation
