Habi, The Foreigner
This first-time feature from María Florencia Álvarez tells a story about the search for identity and a winding path towards that encounter. Analia is 20-year-old girl from a small town in Argentina who routinely travels to Buenos Aires to distribute crafts. While doing so she accidentally stumbles into a Muslim prayer service, and spontaneously decides to remain in the capital and immerse herself in this community. Habi is a fascinating investigation on individuality and the malleable forces of culture on self-discovery.
