Holiday

Dir. Edoardo Gabbriellini
102 min

At only 20, Veronica has had more life than most people—having been found not guilty for the brutal murder of her mother, she retreats to her small hometown hoping to start her life anew.

The trial was the usual circus, Veronica was imprisoned, and though found not guilty, the court of public opinion has a very different outlook on the matricide (and killing of her mother’s boyfriend). Returning to her small town, she exists in the company of the only people who care for her–her father and best friend, the latter of whom was at the murder scene that evening. Haunting, compelling, and utterly heartbreaking, Holiday was an audience favorite at the Toronto International Film Festival.
