When a foreign exchange student arrives in a small upstate New York town, she challenges the dynamics of her host familys relationships and alters their lives forever. Felicity Jones plays Sophie, an emotional and mature beyond-her-years high school student, and Guy Pearce plays Keith, a middle-aged music teacher who is becoming restless with family life. Drake Doremus, reuniting with Jones and co-writer Ben York Jones from their award-winning film Like Crazy, creates a captivating and delicate ensemble drama that defies the clichés.
