In this uber-stylish atmospheric mystery, expect plenty of questions but only a few answers. A young girl who lives in a small village longs to escape the oppressive forces around her: thuggish boys, alcoholic father, bible-quoting mother, and disconnected classmates. She grows more and more distant from her parents, escaping to the woods at night, before possibly vanishing altogether. Blurring reality with myth, experimental Filipino filmmaker Raya Martin dips his toes into narrative form by using old-school horror tropes and seductive electronic soundtrack by Eyedress to build a strange and beautiful landscape.
