FinnFest

The Film Society of Minneapolis St. Paul presents FinnFest, a cinematic celebration of the 100th Anniversary of Finland’s Independence, with five must-see narratives and documentaries by acclaimed Finnish filmmakers. Tale of the Lake director Marko Röhr and cinematographer Teemu Liakka will be in attendance and conduct a Q&A after the September 23 screening of their film.
2017 is the year of Suomi Sata, or Finland 100, the centennial of the nation state of Finland. FinnFest USA, a national organization that celebrates Finland, Finnish Americans and Finnish culture, is bringing the centennial to Minneapolis, partnering with Minnesota Orchestra, the American Swedish Institute, Norway House, Cedar Cultural Center, VocalEssence and the Film Society, to host a series of special events.
