November Cinema Club

Cinema Club (Discussion Only): Saturday, November 11 | 11am-12pm

This month, Cinema Club is requiring "homework." Given the runtime (3.5 hours) of Martin Scorsese's new masterpiece Killers of the Flower Moon, participants are kindly asked to pre-screen the film. That will give us time to watch some clips, hear from guest experts, and discuss the film at length.

See showtimes for Killers of the Flower Moon and order tickets here.

Everyone who joins us at this Cinema Club will have the chance to sign up for a bonus private tour at the Minneapolis Institute of Art as part of the Killers of the Flower Moon "Inspired by Books" series. More info here

Cinema Club Moderator Megan Feeney will be in conversation with guest expert Amber Annis, Director of Native American Initiatives at the MN Historical Society and Lorenzo Fabbri, PhD, Associate Professor of Italian and Moving Image Studies, University of Minnesota.

November's Cinema Club is open to both members and non-members! Everyone is recommended to RSVP to secure a seat.

About Killers of the Flower Moon

At the turn of the 20th century, oil brought a fortune to the Osage Nation, who became some of the richest people in the world overnight. The wealth of these Native Americans immediately attracted white interlopers, who manipulated, extorted, and stole as much Osage money as they could before resorting to murder.

Based on a true story and told through the improbable romance of Ernest Burkhart (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Mollie Kyle (Lily Gladstone), Killers of the Flower Moon is an epic western crime saga, where real love crosses paths with unspeakable betrayal.

Also starring Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons, Tantoo Cardinal, Cara Jade Myers, JaNae Collins, and Jillian Dion, Killers of the Flower Moon is directed by Academy Award winner Martin Scorsese from a screenplay by Eric Roth and Martin Scorsese, based on David Grann’s best-selling book.

Cinema Club is generously sponsored by:
