United Together
Wendnesday, June 3, 2020
To Our Fellow Community Members,
Our intent, this first week in June 2020, had been to thank you for joining us last month (now a world away) at MSPIFF39 Redefined, and to give you an update on the success of our pivot to the virtual world.
We had also wanted to talk about the good that we believe can happen, in taxing times, when we come together through a shared experience.
But now our community finds itself confronting the tragic death of George Floyd, and those of so many others, and the ensuing collective anguish, anger and trauma.
And so, our message today is this. We join our community in advocating for justice in the case of Mr. Floyd.
We join the residents of Minneapolis and St. Paul, and people around the state, country and world, whose distress and grief are so palpable, in solidarity, and in the fight against racial injustice.
Our mission is to ensure that all stories are told and all voices are heard, and we are determined to help our community gather again in open conversation through which will come compassion, understanding and change.
Black Lives Matter.
