Anand returns to his rural Indian town for a 10-day period of mourning for his recently deceased father. Despite mounting pressure to marry, Anand rekindles the flames with his childhood friend Balya, as they both face scrutiny from their family and community.

Anand is a thirty-something man, whose life is moderately comfortable, if uninspired. When his father takes ill and dies, it’s imperative that Anand returns to his remote ancestral village to participate in a period of mourning. There he is bombarded with concerns about his marital status, which his childhood friend, Balya, a farmer, must also endure.
