Do Not Expect Too Much from the End of the World

Dir. Radu Jude
164 min

Radu Jude’s bizarre and radical film sees Angela juggling two jobs: the first as a film production assistant, and the second as her infamous face-filtered, foul-mouthed, misogynistic TikTok alter ego Bobita–with a commentary that punches with anger, poise and absurdity

Angela is trying to do a million things at once–she’s putting in 16-hour days as a production assistant while in her spare time dropping online to become an abhorrent internet personality a la Andrew Tate. Defying every expectation, Do Not Expect Too Much from the End of the World is a film whose title springs from the work of Polish poet Stanislaw Jerzy Lec, invokes Goethe, infamous cinematic hack Uwe Boll, and is interwoven with clips of censored moments in Romanian cinema.
