Hold Onto Me
Hold Onto Me
When 11-year-old Iris discovers her estranged dad in town for his father’s funeral, she tracks him down to an old shipyard in hopes of reclaiming an absent family bond. With her mother on vacation with her new boyfriend, Iris is free to stubbornly assert herself into her father’s somewhat troubled life. Together, and not without a struggle, they become tenuous friends. Myrsini Aristidou’s feature debut, featuring a knockout performance by Maria Petrova as young Iris, is a bittersweet examination of a father and daughter relationship in Cyprus, and a gorgeous look at a young girl’s emotional journey. Sundance Audience Award Winner for World Cinema Dramatic.
