With her father dead for years and her grandfather recently passed, medical student Mariam and her mother are without a financial and social safety net in a very patriarchal culture. Mariam’s imminent graduation could save them, but a series of calamities unleashes a haunting menace in her midst.
In Karachi, Mariam is trying to keep herself afloat. Her mother and brother need her, the two of them untethered after the death of her grandfather. An uncle comes to help but with nefarious intentions, and a kindhearted fellow student starts courting her, but their relationship challenges the social boundaries between an unmarried couple. After a freak accident, Mariam begins to see ghostlike figures following her, challenging her sense of reality and security.
