ABOUT THE FILM

The Wait addresses loneliness and routine, the loss of what was once important to us and how life becomes painful due to certain social issues. People who emigrate across borders and don't make it. The belongings they leave behind, like shed skins, at your doorstep before crossing into danger. The resignation of life in these times and how much life is worth to one, from one's own loneliness and abandonment. Regino Rodríguez Boti, one of the five actors in the film, plays a man who has lost his wife. He is depressed and clings to things in the house to feel his wife. The widower lives with the idea of suicide, but does not carry it out so as not to lose his memories of her.

The symbol of longing takes on strength in the story and following a piece of advice from mysticism the widower manages to open a kind of portal to communicate with his wife.

Filmed entirely in the city of Guantanamo on December 2021
