ABOUT THE FILM

La Suprema is a remote town in the interior of the Colombian Caribbean. Anastasio "Medialuna" a boxer who left the town years ago is about to fight for the world title. Living still in La Suprema, his niece Laureana, has followed Anastasio’s career with admiration for years because she also dreams to become a boxer. When news arrives that the historic fight will be broadcast live on television, Laureana and her community conceive a plan to watch it. However, a couple of obstacles make their plan complicated. La Suprema never had electricity and there is no TV around either. With equal doses of drama and humor, director Felipe Holguín’s debut feature highlights one of the strongest social and political violence that affects hundreds of small towns in the world: oblivion; but the community’s spirit and determination to fight for their right to exist, to have dreams and make them happen is cleverly transformed in Holguin’s tale in a breath of fresh air, inspiring, poignant and highly entertaining.
