Suhail is a young boy with Autism living alone in the Fujairah mountains, in tune with nature and away from a father who does not understand him. When a young girl gets lost in a storm, she meets Suhail and their story begins. Determined to find his mother’s family in Abu Dhabi, the boy and his dog, an Arabian Saluki, set off on an epic and courageous journey, making new friends and teaching others about compassion and the natural world along the way. Emirati filmmaker Zainab Shaheen worked closely with Naser Al Messabi, a young actor on the Autism spectrum, to play this memorable heroic character with much to teach us all. An adaptation of the children’s book trilogy, The Boy Who Knew The Mountains, this family adventure is set in the stunning natural landscape and culture of the United Arab Emirates.
