ABOUT THE FILM

Selena Quintanilla — the "Queen of Tejano Music" — and her family band, Selena y Los Dinos, rose from performing at quinceañeras to selling out stadium tours. The celebration of her life and legacy is chronicled through never-before-seen footage from the family’s personal archive. Directed by Isabel Castro (Mija, Darlin) and executive produced by Michele Anthony and Selena’s siblings, Suzette Quintanilla and AB Quintanilla III, Selena y Los Dinos premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival where it won the US Documentary Special Jury Award for Archival Storytelling.

The 13th annual celebration of US Latino, Latin American, and Ibero Cinema honors the longstanding film traditions across these communities, showcasing a richness of stories, the beauty of place, and vibrant cultures through the power of film.
