Emmet Kowler of Sloppy Discs in conversation with Carla Rodriguez [@blkkhand].

A group of scientists investigates a mysterious zone filled with bizarre, beautiful, continuously mutating plants and animals. Adapted from Jeff VanderMeer’s bestselling novel and taking cues from Tarkovsky and psychedelia, Alex Garland’s sophomore directorial effort explores the complementary horrors of transformation and replication in a mind-altering allegory about the nature of change. Starring Natalie Portman, with Jennifer Jason Leigh, Gina Rodriguez, Tessa Thompson, and Oscar Isaac.
