ABOUT THE FILMS

Takin' Care of Business - From a young age, Canadian Randy Bachman dreamed of becoming a famous rock star. His aspirations took off when he invested in a 1957 Gretsch 6120 guitar, which seemed to have a magical quality that inspired him to write hit songs effortlessly. His bands, The Guess Who and Bachman-Turner Overdrive, became famous with chart-toppers like "American Woman" and "Takin' Care of Business," all written on that Gretsch guitar. Despite his success, his world came crashing down when the guitar was stolen in 1977, triggering a series of personal and professional setbacks.

The documentary film Takin' Care of Business explores the ups and downs of Randy's life, his relentless 45-year search for the stolen guitar, and his journey of hope, determination, and resilience. It ultimately leads to the guitar’s rediscovery by an internet sleuth, now owned by a Tokyo-based musician. Randy's story highlights themes of obsession, artistic inspiration, the enduring power of music, and overcoming adversity, all culminating in a reunion with his cherished instrument.

Baseball Furies: Extra Innings - In high school it was always the punks versus the jocks. But as I got older I noticed that a lot of my old friends from various punk and metal bands were coming out as die-hard baseball fans. I learned that we were a legion; a subculture within a subculture. A group that shrugged off conventional popular culture, but held tightly onto the bat with tattooed fingers.

In this installment, we talk to the late, great Steve Albini who loved baseball so much he started his own semi-pro team. This is hands down one of the best interviews we got to take part in. You won't want to miss it.
