When Jeff, an aspiring filmmaker, is invited by his friend, Max, for a weekend in a remote cabin with Max’s family and an acclaimed director, old grievances, jealousies and the primeval forest drive everyone to their worst behavior.

Cadieux is an acclaimed director who once worked with Albert, a screenwriter and Max’s father. Seeking a reunion, Albert invites Max, his older sister Aliocha, and of course, Jeff, who will surely become inspired by these two filmmaking legends. Problem is, Cadieux is on a downward trajectory, only able to finance documentaries; Albert loves to needle him on this point; Jeff is sexually obsessed with Aliocha;’ and the forest, the deep, dark forest, seems to be closing in on all of them.
