All to Play For
Sylvie is a single mom, trying to make life work for her two boys. One night, her youngest burns himself while she’s at work bartending. Now she’s in the fight of her life against France’s child protection system.
Sylvie and her kids adore one another, and despite their financial struggles, their modest life seems warm and full of love. To keep food on the table and a roof over their heads, Sylvie must take whatever work she can, and so ends up as a bartender. One evening, her youngest, hungry for frites, burns himself on the hot oil, and his seemingly innocent answers to the hospital’s questions send child protectives services sniffing at their door. Threatened with having her boys taken from her, Sylvie musters all her strength to keep her family together, despite every conceivable obstacle.
