Happy Holidays

Dir. Scandar Copti
124 min

The lives of four people intersect in Oscar-nominated Palestinian director Scandar Copti’s kaleidoscopic film. Cast with non-actors, we see the relationships between Palestinians and Israelis, some intimate, some distant, collide in a country riven by conflict.

In Jerusalem, Fifi is in a minor car accident, sending her to the ER. Her family rallies around her only to discover, thanks to a less-than-confidential hospital, her private medical history. Meanwhile her brother Rami harbors his own secrets about his girlfriend Shirley who is Israeli. Director Scandar Copti’s film takes numerous narrative threads and weaves them into a family tapestry that unfolds to show the complexities of Palestinians living in modern Israel.
