Lost in the Night

Dir. Amat Escalante
120 min

Emiliano is obsessed with finding his missing mother–an activist who vanished while protesting a local mine. When Emiliano starts digging to get to the bottom of this mystery, he finds a wealthy family that he thinks holds the key to his mother’s disappearance. His revenge, misguided or not, is exacted with plenty of collateral damage.

Emiliano is an idealistic young man, a laborer who learned from his mother that you have to fight for justice every single day. And she lived what she preached, fighting tooth and nail against a mining project. When she goes missing, Emiliano is despondent and pulls out all of the stops to find out who is responsible. When he gets close to a very strange family associated with the mine, he takes a job as a handyman to get close to his enemy–setting off a chain reaction with consequences that go beyond his wildest expectations.
