Conversation with filmmakers/subjects Mallory Weggemann and Jay Snyder following the screening.
MSPIFF audience-favorite Watershed returns for a special MN Made screening with Co-Directors Jay Snyder and Mallory Weggemann, a five-time Paralympic swimming medalist.
Hot on the heels of Weggemann’s recent achievements as the first Paralympian to host Olympic coverage for NBCUniversal before competing in her fourth Paralympics in Paris from August 28 – September 8, Mallory and Jay return to The Main Cinema on September 17 to share their film and participate a post-screening conversation about the importance of centering IVF in the current political battles over reproductive rights.
ABOUT THE FILM
Watershed follows the extraordinary life of Mallory Weggemann, who was paralyzed at the age of 18 and found refuge in the pool as a competitive swimmer, ultimately becoming a five-time medalist in the Paralympics. But the hero’s journey takes an unexpected twist as Weggemann and Snyder bravely share their deeply personal struggles with infertility and the importance of IVF, pulling back the curtain on their journey to start a family.
Self-documented by Weggemann and Snyder, Watershed offers a raw and authentic glimpse into their lives, highlighting their resilience and determination while aiming to provide authentic representation for the disability community and shine a light on the importance of preserving IVF rights for everyone.
